Enjoy life, Journey Moore Often!

Life is Short. Enjoy Life. Journey Moore Often.

There’s a moment — somewhere between the first sip of coffee at a café you’ve never been to before and the last mile of a trail you weren’t sure you could finish — when everything just clicks. Add in the thrill of the experience itself, and that’s the moment we built our whole website around.

You don’t need a passport, an expense account, or a perfectly planned itinerary to have an experience worth remembering. We’ve learned that the hard way and the wonderful way, often in the trip. We’ve been on some 4 trips in other countries where we’ve had to switch accommodations at the last minute, while simultaneously canceling the ones we already had for the night.

Sometimes the best trip is a road trip to a town you’ve never stopped in. Sometimes it’s a trail like Alleghany Front Trail that you’ve been meaning to hike for three years. Sometimes it’s finally walking into that restaurant everyone keeps talking about — or the one nobody knows about yet.

Sometimes it’s what we at JMO call the “accidental finding”, where you had no idea what you were walking into and totally enjoyed that you experienced it by accident, like our Madrid “Accidental” Wine Tasting experience in 2017, or our more recent discovery in Old San Juan in March of 2026, Carli’s Fine Bistro & Piano Bar.

What Journey Moore Often is All About

The short version: We believe life’s best moments are out there waiting, and most of them are closer — and more affordable — than you think. Even if you had to safe up for something you’ve always wanted to do, do it.

The longer version: Journey Moore Often is Gary & Dianne Moore’s ongoing promotion of the idea that getting out and experiencing the world isn’t reserved for the wealthy, the retired, or the people with more free time than you.

It’s for everyone. It’s for a Saturday afternoon and a full tank of gas. It’s for a reservation at a place you read about on a whim. It’s for saying yes to the tour, the tasting, the trail, and the detour.

What You’ll Find Here

We cover a lot of ground — literally and figuratively. Expect honest restaurant write-ups like Poppy’s in Front Royal, VA or Deacon’s House Cafe in Edinburgh, Scotland and other spots that earned every word of the review. Expect hiking and biking trails broken down by difficulty, scenery, and whether the Parking in Europe is going to stress you out.

Because most of the stress we experience while traveling is not knowing what to expect…ahead of time.

Expect travel tips (did you Check the Bathroom before you booked?), weekend getaway guides, winery visits & brewery stops as experienced by Tipsy Tagalongs, guided tours (Louvre), and the kind of day trips (Schnapps AND hiking!!) that make you wonder why you waited so long.

No fluff. Just firsthand experiences from people who genuinely love the journey as much as the destination.

No sponsored hype. Do we have sponsors? Occasionally, but they don’t drive our experience, and they definitely don’t drive the articles on the website.

If we’re sponsored for an event and don’t like it? We’ll return the sponsorship money (or not accept it) so we don’t have to write it up. That way, when you read about a fun event we attended like the Old San Juan – US Ghost Adventures Tour, or our Ehrenberg Castle Tour in Austria, you’ll know without question what we wrote is the real deal, not some sponsor required BS.

Our Philosophy, Plain and Simple

We’re not here to tell you that you need to fly to Tuscany to have a life-changing meal (though if you get the chance, go). We’re here to remind you that the coffee shop two towns over might change your Saturday morning forever. That the Pinchot State Trail & Park are only an hour from your house has a waterfall you’ve never seen. That the local Dicken’s Festival or The Great Pumpkin Carve event you keep skipping is actually worth the parking fiasco.

Enjoying life doesn’t require a price tag. It just requires a willingness to go.

So pull up a chair, scroll through some of the 250 plus pages/articles on the website, and let us help you find and better enjoy your next adventure — big, small, local, or far-flung.

Journey Moore Often, because the world is too good to stay home, and it’s much, much smaller than it used to be.
