How many boutique micro-breweries can boast a drive-thru pick up? And a beer garden?
Be Here Brewing Company has both and more.
For a brewery that has been open for barely 7 months, they’ve seen some interesting bumps in the road. Starting up in November of 2019, they went into the winter looking forward to better weather and the promise of happy customers eating, drinking, and having fun outside in their beer garden.
We had been wanting to go for a while, so for Father’s Day, we decided to head over for a couple of growlers.
The beer selection is definitely impressive.
They’ve teamed up with another local brewery from Kennett Square, PA, Braeloch Brewery. for the Grace Hopper New England IPA 8.8%. They didn’t have it on tap that day, but they did have cans. We decided to have that and the Slow Coaster while we were trying to figure out which ones we’d be leaving with.

Left to right, we got the following samplers to help us choose the growlers we’d be taking with us:
“Fool’s Gold Wit 4.7% – Delicately sweet and tart with mild citrus and banana flavors. Remarkably balanced and drinkable.”
“Be Where Imperial Stout 9% – Deep rich, full-bodied and chocolaty stout. Beware! This one comes with its own warning. You may lose yourself!”
“School’s Closed Kolsch 4.7% – Crisp, honey biscuity. Perfectly light for warmer weather.”
“North of Here IPA 7.2% – Unfiltered and chock full of citrusy and melony hops.”
Everything was pretty much as described in the menu.
They even tell you to rinse out your growler(s) before you come, but once there, they will sanitize it before filling it up.
Don’t like beer and prefer wine? Don’t fret, they have wines from the local Wayvine Winery & Vineyard available. They have a white, red, and Rosé. We’re familiar with all three, and the winery produces noteworthy wines.
When the virus hit and things shut down, that was brutal.
When Be Here was allowed to re-open, they could only do so with the requirement of curb side pickup. The building and site used to be a bank…with a drive-thru. Curbside pickup at its finest. At least they hit upon some good fortune there.
As soon as we got there, we were met by smiles behind the masks. Asking what we’d like, either pick up or sit down. That’s we ended up staying for a pint at a picnic table. It was a small wait.

They also have food as well. As we only picking up the growlers we didn’t order any, but it sure does look good!
Since Pennsylvania was still in the yellow phase, everything was outside. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to go inside on this trip. We do know that there is additional seating inside.
They have different events throughout the year. Previous to the shutdown, they had regular music. They do have Beer and Bonsai events every so often as well. It’s an hour and a half class that comes with a two-year old bonsai tree and a pint!
Be Here also has musicians from time to time, but they are waiting till things get closer to normal before bring them in.
