Basic grocery shopping? That’s now a special opps manuever that even a Seal team would be proud of. Or maybe something out of the zombie apocalipse?
If there was fun, it is fading. The novelty of being at home is starting to grow old.
It’s not a requirement to be bored! We can still do a lot of fun things from home under quarantine. Creativity is the key.
We had a lot planned. Like everyone else, we’ve been forced to regroup as it’s no longer status quo. We’re not upset about it, but it certainly has thrown us for a loop. As a result, we’re now branding in a new ways. We’re local bound, so we’re using the time to take advantage of local places.
Due to the corona virus, JMO recognizes the need to continue to brand, but with some twists that stay within the safety guidelines.
In addition to filling in some previous experiences, we are initiating some “live with” Journey Moore Often videos to share some of the ways you can enjoy today’s environment. We’ll be reaching out to local business to jointly share things people can do to support them, while simultaneously allowing people to better enjoy the current situation.
We’ve also got some other ideas we’re working on. Some of them will involve our readers to an even greater level, stay tuned!
We like to plan. Folks we see on a regular basis are always asking where we’re going next. Every year that changes, a lot of that is due to the financial market (where prices are cheaper, etc.), the local environment (what’s going on at our intended destination), and of course, where we’d like to go.
Right now, everything is tentative, but…if you have some money saved up for a journey, you may be able to find some good travel deals. They are definitely out there. It’s the perfect time to continue to stimulate the economy and save money at the same time. Planning for the future.
How are we at JMO planning this season?
Our typical strategy is to have about 2-3 destinations that we narrow down to the final selection. Usually the decision occurs somewhere around six months before we leave.
This year for instance.
Flights are cheapest right now to Brussels, Belgium and Zurich, Switzerland. Many airlines are allowing free exchange (not refunds) of tickets if you purchase by a certain date but have to delay your flight due to the coronavirus. No exchange fees. Philadelphia to Zurich round trip and non-stop is currently only $410 for the cheap seats (per person). It’s not out of the questions the tickets could get cheaper, but we know that there’s a good chance that would be the most we would pay.
We’re waiting for two things – to see if they’ll go cheaper and seeing if the coronavirus situation is going to settle out just a little more.
For either the Brussels or Zurich trips, we are looking at discount tickets on the Eurorail (15% off ), good for 33 countries, and can be held for 17 months. Held for 17 months. Within 17 months, the virus will be over by then, and we’ll have our tickets to travel and ready to go.
Since we first posted our blog article COVID-19 What is JMO Doing?, virtual tours have been kicked into high gear. Some of the world’s greatest museums, zoos, and aquariums, Arts and Culture’s Nahuku Lava Tube Tour, National Geographic’s Bird’s-Eye View of the Famous Mont-Saint-Michel, The History Channel – Roman Colosseum.
