Grounded. Stay away from crowds. Social distancing.
Buy lots of toilet paper. NOOOO!! Well yes, you should have some toilet paper. Although we’d strike a wager that you probably don’t need nearly as much as what’s in the cart below.
First and foremost, we’ll be washing our hands, excessively. For sure that’s something we in the US are shocked to be reminded of in the 21st Century. There must be a billion memes (each with their own song to hum or sing) on social media that show the best way to scrub your digits.
Considering the circumstances, we’re somewhat rethinking our strategy. The reality is, some of our plans may have to wait depending on how everything plays out. Basically it’s not about shutting down our lives. Rather more about gearing down some to avoid major opportunities to contract or spread the virus.
We’ll also be doing whatever is reasonable in our personal attempt to “flatten the curve”. Avoiding public transportation when we can, that kind of thing.
No less exciting!!
But…in light of the Coronavirus, we may end up needing to curtail some of our travel and activities. We at JMO had a jammed packed schedule already planned for the rest of this calendar year. Places like Northern Virginia, New York City, Portland, and another Europe destination were on the list of where we would go and have you travel vicariously with us!
Essentially, we want to continue to go to fun places, but also be smart. So…where does that leave us you say? Well, we’ve always been creative in how we journey through life. We’ve had numerous road blocks that we’ve had to negotiate, and we’ve done so, successfully. We anticipate working through this one successfully as well.
Suffice it to say for the next month or so, our journeys will be focusing more on Local Gems. We’ll also be working on creative ways to journey during this season. We’ve already begun to assemble some new ideas, cooking up some pretty fun things that we sure you’ll enjoy. As things start to unfold, you’ll be the first to know!
So for the next little while, don’t look for that really cool video of us in the market in Dijon, France, awesome pictures of us checking out the Carrickfergus Castle in Northern Ireland, or the 360 degree panaramic of a Roman Colosseum. But don’t worry, in the meantime, we’ll be working diligently to post articles of places we’ve already been to catch up.
We still have plenty to share with everyone. Like the market in Dijon that we mentioned earlier. Or eating in a grotto next to a Roman Ampitheatre. Then there’s the Antica Pesa restaurant in Rome, which serves a smoke fill bell jar with chocolate ashtray and chocolate cigar dessert. Had we know we were going to do this blog back in 2016, we surely would have videod that dessert.
And of course, when everything lightens up, it’ll be business as usual. We intend to jump back in as quick as is practical to keep things interesting.
