Yesterday, 1723 Vineyards celebrated their Grand Opening!! It was a great day (the weather was cooperating), and while a little hot, the tasting room and shady spots were quite comfortable.
It was clear the 1723 “Women of Wine” were prepared with smiles and had worked really hard in preparation for the event.
The Women of Wine at 1723 Vineyards (l-r) – Ronni, Dawn, Ali, Sarah (the owner along with her husband Ben)
While co-owner Ben may not have been in the forefront, he was certainly not missing from the event. Ben was moving around from here to there, never staying anywhere for too long, magically working as the “man behind the scenes”, in total support of the upfront staff.
There were more people than expected that showed up, and the serving room was delightfully packed! Thankfully pretty much everyone was patient and understanding in anticipation of tasting 1723’s great wine (see our original JMO write up here) and enjoying their day at the vineyard.
Award winning wine maker Gabriel Rubilar was there for the celebration talking with guests, explaining about how the grapes are grown, how the vineyard works, and the process of making the various wines that 1723 Vineyards produces and sells.
The Road Rancher was their to cook up some really good food. We highly recommend everything they make, but in particular we enjoyed the nachos and most of all…their cheese steak. The cheese steak is made from fresh local beef and has an incredible taste.
Music was provided by Gary Moore, lead singer of The Shucked Oyster Band, as a solo act from 2:00pm-5:30pm, playing classic tunes with a “bluesy” flair, adding to the ambience of the already relaxing environment.
