Transporting you to days past with modern updates you arrive at the Landenberg Store. Since 1872, the Landenberg Store has been a staple in Landenberg, PA. Landenberg Village began as an industrial village. The village proper still boasts the historic hotel (now apartments and an office), the Landenberg United Methodist Church, the original wool house (also apartments) as well as the store.
As preamble to the grand re-opening , property owners Bill and Beth Skalish fully remodeled the store. It was quite the undertaking and the changes are modern and up to date while preserving the integrity of our local “ general store”.
While this is a take-out restaurant, the new menu with breakfast, lunch and dinner items all created by business owner and Chef Mark Spena is easily equal to an upscale sit down establishment, with reasonable prices. It’s the perfect place to order for any occasion such as;
1) you want to order/eat great food,
2) your life is too busy to make your own meal,
3) you just don’t feel like cooking,
4) you feel like going out, but don’t feel like going out, or
5) you’re having friends over and you want to impress them with your cooking prowess, but don’t actually know how to cook.
Mark Spena shared one of his tasty lunch creations with us – the Baguette French Dog. We usually don’t eat hot dogs, but this exception is sooo good, we went back for seconds! The Baguette French Dog features the classic hot dog on a french baguette, Gruyere cheese, diced onion, and dijon mustard, baked in the oven at high heat just long enough for the cheese brown slightly, yum!

Although we didn’t snag a picture, we also had a sampler of the sushi, with Mark’s wasabi sauce (not too spicy), that was quite delicious.
Of course if you’re going to have breakfast you need a coffee menu with all your favorites.
